Hope Falling

There are quiet flakes of snow, each unique and untouched by the harshness of earth, descending from the Heavens today. As each crystal lands safely and quietly amongst the other millions of icy cutouts the earth seems tranquil. It is hushed over the peace of falling snow.

The snow changes plans though. It interrupts the day prearranged with adventures and running. Emotions nearly seem to shift as a result of this washing of white across the landscape of each window.

At first glance an unexpected bother has sabotaged my momentum. I’m stopped by an uncontrollable circumstance and irritated. And then I listen…..I lean in to hear……its quiet…

….it’s Falling Snow….

{I pump the break and stop the full throttle acceleration of my disrupted plans and I whisper…}

…..”Hope is free falling to earth”……..

Finding Hope in life has recently become my soul’s desperation. However urgent efforts to cling to Hope have left my soul sore. The begging for something to rise from the ashes has made me crumble under too numerous a weakness.
The lonely, the poured out, the care givers, the beating hearts, the wishful thinkers, the risk takers, the passionate lovers, the dreamers….I know their souls seem sore too and these flakes of snow, these loosely falling thoughts of mine today, will drift up and gather what seems to be hushing our voices…

There are times when pushing out the confession that, “God is always enough….” Feels like a burning bleed through cold chapped {hopeless} lips. It’s a confession because it’s a trying. It’s an effort of confessing Hope that doesn’t seem to be rising from the ashes. It’s a yielding that begs the Truth to rise above the circumstance. It’s a confession because it’s an attempt to negotiate greater strength, deeper belief and the will to go on one more day. One more step. One more act of courageous faith, with little guarantee that THIS {This!} will be the act that provokes the results of life. It’s the confession that faith can provoke hope to rise…

….so you say it again, “God is always enough…” and hope beyond reason that by hoping you will rise to find life….

Then in an act of Sheer Brilliance hope falls on you as you kneel…..Hope falls on you as you kneel…

….thicker flakes of Snow begin to fall……Winter White blankets earth….

Because sometimes it isn’t what we beg to rise, but what we allow to fall.

…I let the Snow fall…..spirit and soul I don’t stop it, adjust it, change it, manipulate it, or grieve it….

I allow the Snow to fall and change everything. I allow the Snow to Script me a New Plan today.

We confess again as the snow falls ‘round….”God is always enough…”

Quietly we hear Him say, “Keep letting Hope fall all around you….let my Grace not be an interruption, but a Divine appointment where you allow me to let the Hope of Heaven quiet you and fall all over your dry cracked earth…don’t feel frustration in being too weak to rise, let My Hope, My Grace, fall all around you.”

{“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love…” Zephaniah 3:17}

Keep hoping for that job you’re dreaming of. Let Hope fall all around you.
Keep hoping for health and healing. Let Hope fall all around you.
Keep hoping for your marriage to weave together a tighter mending. Let Hope fall all around you.
Keep hoping that forgiveness matters. Let Hope fall all around you.
Keep hoping that loving others counts. Let Hope fall all around you.
Keep hoping that your deposits into life matter to Kingdom purposes. Let Hope fall all around you.

Keep letting Hope fall……give in to the Snow White tumbling.

Allow that beloved moment when Heaven drops to touch us, to slow us down, to plummet all around us.

{Because what happens in the discreet cascading of Hope is the collecting of a soul gathered in humble grace.}

It’s the quiet things that can’t quite find the space to fall when life is busy and the world around us is loud and the soul is disturbed. No, the Snow finds us in the quiet…finds our hearts in the whispers….washes us clean with the falling…..

God wills the Snow to let Hope fall……..

“Observe the rain {….the snow…..} which drops from heaven. It falls on the desert as well as on the fertile field. It drops on the rock that will refuse its fertilizing moisture as well as on the soil that opens its gaping mouth to drink it in with gratitude. It falls on the streets of the city, where it is not required, and where men will even curse it for coming, and it falls not more freely where the sweet flowers have been panting for it and the withering leaves have been rustling forth their prayers. Such is the grace of God. It does not visit us because we ask for it, much less because we deserve it, but as God wills it.” ~ Charles Spurgeon

{…..”wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit”….Psalm 51:7-12}
