I believe our Salvation happens in a moment of surrender to Christ for the security of our Eternity. Our Becoming happens over the course of a lifetime of surrender to the Lordship of Christ for the sanctification of our souls living in light of Eternal Salvation. It takes time, experience, care, creativity, courage and attention. Psalm 118 is actually first proclaimed in Exodus 15 as the song of Moses and Israel in their freedom from the Egyptian slavery. “I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.”This anthem of Becoming is repeated in Isaiah 12 as a prophetic promise of thanksgiving upon Christ’s return. “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and son, and He has become my salvation.”
So, within the framework of our stories as followers of Christ this is the navigation of our Becoming. Strength. Song. Repeat. Becoming shows up in the beginning, the middle and in the end. The strength of the Lord is becoming a song within our lives all along the way.

We may be familiar with this passage of scripture. However, we could be inclined to race through it from memory instead of slowly integrating each portion. Especially when we are walking through unforgiving seasons of pain. The value to unfurling each verse steadily grants us enduring peace.

As women we face an increased pressure of all the hard "earth" that threatens to crack over our souls. Our past hurts, current sin and anxiety for the future can so distract us from truth we can walk a pretty far path discouraged, but in a divine moment of intersection the Darling of Heaven met a women just like you and me at the well and exposed the fullness of His Kingdom in love to her to heal her, free her and open her life up to Kingdom purposes. God's love is full of mercy and truth. In equal parts He loves us into healing. Cari invites you onto a walk down a dusty earth road to a glorious exchange that changed a woman, that altered a legacy and ignited an entire community to believe in Jesus.

1 Peter 4:7-11 will be the spring-loaded scripture we will use to jump start our hearts. The Lord has so tenderly opened this letter Peter wrote as a navigation system through suffering to the “elect resident aliens” scattered about Asia – there are tremendous overlaps to the feelings we carry in our times of suffering. This heart of Peter will catapult us into the value of remaining steadfast in prayer, keeping a fervent love pouring in and through us, maintaining a willing spirit to live hospitable and ultimately not lose sight of the Eternal value of sharing the gifts of God while we wait for His return and live amongst sufferings. We will be able to bounce into portions of scripture both in the New and Old Testament giving us equipped encouragement to stay the course through seasons of grief and joy.
