This week’s reading has fired me up on every level. I truly cannot say strongly enough how important this week’s content is to those of us waiting on the Lord inside a hidden season. As you watch the video consider this quote found on pages 64-65 in Anonymous by Alicia Britt Chole :

“In Jesus’ state of hunger,

The tempter came to him and said, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.’ Jesus answered, ‘It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ {Matthew 4:3-4}

…….I find it noteworthy that Satan did not suggest that Jesus run into town and steal some food - that would have been a blatant violation of God’s commandments. But eating? Food in itself is not sinful. And here is where Satan’s lures can be deceptive. This layer was not about what Jesus would eat as much as it was about when Jesus would eat. Would he obey Father God even when obedience required delayed satisfaction of legitimate needs?”
